Credits

The music is theirs.

Beatomat owns none of the music it plays. Every record belongs to the artist who made it, and this page says where each one comes from and under which licence it plays.

Last updated 18 October 2026. Beatomat is run by Alexandru Nicolescu, an individual developer in Cluj-Napoca, Romania.

Who is credited, and where

Each set is credited while it plays: on the deck, Credits and licences opens a list of every artist in the set, the record, its licence, and a link to the record where it was published. The list is built from the records actually on the decks, so a set is never half-credited.

Finished mixes credit every record on their own page, under the tracklist, with the same details.

Where the records come from

  • Audius. Most of the crate: independent artists who publish on Audius, streamed from Audius' own servers under the Open Music License. Beatomat analyses these records for tempo, key and beats, which is what lets it hold two of them together for a long blend.
  • The Internet Archive. Netlabel releases under the Creative Commons licences below. Licences that forbid adaptation (ND) or commercial use (NC) are left out entirely, because a mix is plausibly an adaptation and Beatomat has a paid plan.
  • YouTube. The records everybody knows play from YouTube in YouTube's own player, credited by that player. Their audio never passes through Beatomat, so they get shorter mixes and no effects, and nothing of theirs can ever be recorded.
  • Deezer supplies a known record's key, tempo and loudness from its public API. No audio from Deezer is played.

The licences

Open Music License Audius

Free to stream and to mix. The artist must be named, with a copyright notice, a reference to the licence and a link to the record.

CC BY Internet Archive

Free to share and adapt, including in a mix, as long as the artist is credited and the licence is named.

CC BY-SA Internet Archive

As CC BY, and anything made from the record must carry the same licence. That is why a mix holding one of these records will not be exportable when recording arrives.

CC0 Internet Archive

Given to the public domain by its author. No condition, credited anyway.

Public Domain Internet Archive

No copyright left to observe. Credited anyway.

Artists and rights holders

If a record of yours is in Beatomat and you want it credited differently or taken out, email andinicolescu02@gmail.com and it will be done.
